Tortoise General Craft | Vintage<Vintage Bamboo Flower Basket – Hanakago 1

This vintage bamboo basket is believed to be the work of an artist from the Iizuka school. Woven in the six-eyed pattern using high-quality smoked bamboo (susudake), it features a ‘musubi’ (knot) design, which is often seen in the works of Rokansai Iizuka. Although the artist’s name is not inscribed, you can sense the craftsmanship in how the material is prepared, and how the weaving technique is executed. A lacquered bamboo flower vase sits center for your flower arrangement. Note: bottom of bamboo vase is an open cylinder. Please insert a slim glass for your flowers.
