This double-sided pendant necklace features watermelon tourmaline set inside an 18k yellow gold smiley face. On one side, the smiley face is accented with pink sapphire “cheeks.” The other side shows off the pink and green hues of the tourmaline in a multi-pronged setting. The colors are said to soothe the heart and counteract anger and resentment.

History:
Rather than relying on molds, Mizuki Tsurutaka, the designer behind Black Barc, handcrafts all of her work using traditional Japanese blacksmithing techniques. Tsurutaka is based in Los Angeles. She shares her studio with her husband Yusuke Muramatsu, designer of Prospective Flow.
